The Megabass Magdraft 5″ Freestyle Swimbait is designed for serious bass anglers seeking dependable big-fish performance. Its snub-nose shape accommodates screw-lock hooks effortlessly, while the pre-cut belly and recessed top groove simplify rigging for all skill levels. Maintaining the signature hard-thumping tail and fierce head-shake of the original Magdraft, the Freestyle variant introduces versatile rigging options. Use weighted 6/0 or 8/0 screw-lock hooks to fish thick cover like submerged vegetation, shade lines, and isolated structures. It excels in slow-rolling, laydowns, and precision skips under docks. Add a blade for enhanced flash in open water or switch to heavy jigheads to explore deeper ledges and rocky bottoms with confidence. The Magdraft Freestyle’s adaptability extends to line-through rigs for shallow, skip-friendly presentations.
Recommended Hook Sizes

Retrieve Tips: The Magdraft is engineered to deliver a powerful combination of tail-thump and head-shake designed to trigger the lateral lines of predatory fish. For best performance, it requires a precise retrieve speed. Start with a medium to medium-slow retrieve and adjust until you feel the Magdraft engage fully, sending strong head-shaking vibrations through the line. If the tail drags, increase your retrieve speed. Conversely, if the swimbait rolls onto its side, recheck your rigging or slow down your retrieve to maintain optimal action.
