The Heddon Zara Spook invented the walk-the-dog retrieve more than 80 years ago, and despite being copied literally hundreds of times during the past decade, the Zara is still the king of topwater fishing. The Zara Spook is just the right size and produces the most consistent side-to-side retrieve for anglers looking for big bass and other species alike, such as stripers, northern pike, and even muskie. This bait has been a “go-to” lure for bass fishermen for generations, and will continue to shine as new competitors rise and fall to the challenge to meet the industry standard for walking baits, found in the Heddon Zara Spook. There’s a reason this bait has hardly changed since its invention in the 1920s!
